Ricardo Yanofsky, Week 9 Journal

Based on the meeting last week, I made the tweaks and additions to the level we had agreed on. Some areas are much more spacious, and the third floor is much better. The balance of secret areas and size makes it so players will not be able to explore the entire store if they are also collecting items. The coordination between maya and unity was smoother now that I know some things that make it easier on them, and some things that are unnecessary, such as the shelf placement.

Level redesign (5 hrs)

We still had a minor issue with the arms, which I wasted a few hours trying to fix, but now we found out a much easier fix in unity. They still need texturing though.

Fixing the arms (2 hrs)

I made some textures for the boxes throughout the store. I made some simple specific designs, but also a generic template based on the movie Repo Man and made a bunch of ordinary looking boxes with silly things written on them.

Box texturing (3 hrs)

I made a fancy picture frame for the special item of the art store. I made it towards the end but it’s in the game and it looks good.
